Farfetch Affiliate Program

The Farfetch affiliate program can’t be joined directly through any affiliate network. You have to send an email to Farfetch:

Email us the name and URL of your website or blog. We will review your site and respond to your e-mail within seven days with further information on how to join the affiliate programme.

Farfetch does not mention the requirements for joining their program, but they do mention this:

We are looking for innovative, fashion-forward, stylish websites and blogs from around the world – in particular, those that specialise in fashion, lifestyle, beauty and design – to join our global affiliate programme.

If you get approved, you will be able to join the Farfetch affiliate program on Partnerize through a link they will send you.

The program has a 30-day cookie duration, and you can earn a commission on all global sales (not just the US ones).

Farfetch Affiliate Program Commission

Farfetch affiliate program commission is 7%.

A 7% commission on luxury products is quite good. For reference, if you promoted luxury fashion with Amazon Associates, you would earn 4%.

However, if you intend to mainly promote certain fashion brands, I recommend checking their own fashion affiliate programs.

You might get a higher commission for some brands, but for many, you won't, as 7% is decent.

For example, if you wanted to promote Nike and join their affiliate program, you would get a commission of 3-7% with a 30-day cookie duration.

In that case, it would be better for you to promote Nike through Farfetch.

I looked at Farfetch's financial results, in which they state that the average order value (AOV) on their marketplace is around $600.

7% from $600 is a nice $42.

Can You Make $1,000 a Month as a Farfetch Affiliate?

How many sales of Farfetch products would you have to generate to earn the $1,000 benchmark.

Assuming you would earn $42 per sale, you would need to get around 24 sales.

24 sales do not sound like much, but remember that their products are expensive, so the conversion rate will be lower.

Let's assume that your conversion is just 0.2%.

In that case, your content with Farfetch affiliate links would need to be read by around 12,000 people to generate 24 sales.

You would not need that much traffic even with such low conversion.

In my Shein affiliate program, I calculated that you would need around 50,000 traffic with a 1% conversion rate.

Shein has very cheap products, so commissions are low as well.

Even though you can have a higher conversion rate by promoting cheap products, you need bigger traffic.

How to Promote Farfetch

Farfetch sells expensive products. If you want to be very successful in promoting Farfetch, you need to target an audience that is willing and able to spend larger sums of money.

Regardless of whether you sell cheap Shein products or expensive ones from Farfetch, you should utilize not just blog posts but also social media and YouTube.

Buying clothes is a visual process. The most successful fashion influencers show their audience the products on themselves together with honest feedback.

This is obviously not easy. Buying expensive Farfetch products and reviewing them is something most affiliates can't afford. Hence, so many affiliates promote cheap Shein products, but few promote expensive brands.

And even if you could afford it, I would not recommend it unless you already have an established bigger audience that follows and trusts you.

This applies to any affiliate program if you are just starting with affiliate marketing.

First, focus on establishing yourself as an authority in your niche. You can do that through informational posts that target the desired audience.

Then add transactional content (reviews). You don’t need to buy a particular piece of clothing to write a quality article review.

Once you start generating some income, you can consider producing more visual content and purchasing the products you review.

It should be gradual. Not long ago, I heard a story about a guy who started an affiliate blog in the drone niche. He bought drones worth a couple thousand dollars to produce high-quality, in-depth reviews. Of course, thinking that he would earn all the money back and more with affiliate commission.

Well, that didn’t happen. He had a brand new blog with zero domain authority and a YouTube channel with zero subscribers, so his chances for success were very low.

The point I am trying to make here is that even if you are fortunate to be able to afford things for your starting affiliate business, it doesn’t mean you should go on a spending spree.

Should You Become a Farfetch Affiliate?

Farfetch is a popular luxury fashion marketplace with a good affiliate program.

The program has a 7% commission which makes nice commissions on expensive products.

The 30-day cookie duration is also decent.

If you have an established luxury fashion blog or are a fashion influencer with a bigger audience, it is a no-brainer and you should join the Farfetch affiliate program and become a Farfetch affiliate.

However, if you are just starting out, I recommend joining other programs.

Promoting luxury fashion is not the easiest niche to start at.
